How the class works:

The class starts at 8am every morning and usually finishes by 5pm.   We take a half hour for lunch,  don't forget to bring snacks and lunch!

Prep Days:  Students who are interested in the entire building process are welcome to come a day or two early and help prep for the class,  where we cut and mortise the gunwales and laminate the deck beams.  Appreciated,  but not mandatory.   Make sure to let me know if you want to come early!

Day 1)  Spread the gunwales and build the deck beams
Day 2)  Bend in the ribs and tie on the stems and stringers
Day 3)  Add the deck stringers,  sand and oil the frames
Day 4)  Sew the skin on the boat and add dye colors
Day 5)  Rough shape the paddles and apply coating to boats
Day 6)  Finish shaping the paddles and add seats, backbands, rub strips, footbraces, and deck lines
Day 7)  Go paddling!   (usually done by noon)
