Kayak building classes

Welcome and thanks for considering building your own kayak.  Whether you are looking to race, surf, tour, fish, explore a traditional Inuit design, or just mess around on the local pond, no one is as committed to custom fitting and personal detail as I am.  My goal is always to get you into a kayak that will match your lifestyle.   I build and teach a LOT of kayaks and I always have plenty of business so there is never any pressure to "sell" you anything.   Simply put, I love kayaks, and as much as I love building them, I am always a paddler first, and you will always get the straight story when it comes to choosing a kayak for your needs, even if that means it's not one of mine!

A skin-on-frame kayak is super lightweight, surprisingly tough, easy to build, and easy on the wallet.  Building your own is an incredibly rewarding way to spend a week. I look forward to sharing the magic of this process with you.

Check out the Course introduction page for more info on the process.
